The Bucks County Water and Sewer Authority lifted a boil water advisory for customers in Middletown late Saturday afternoon.

“We are pleased to report that the main break was repaired, and all laboratory tests have been completed and show that there is no bacteria in the water. It is no longer necessary to boil your water,” officials said in a notice.

Customers in the area of East Lincoln Highway between I-95 and Oxford Valley Road, Maple Avenue (Route 213) between Flowers Mill Road and East Lincoln Highway, or Woodbourne Road between East Lincoln Highway and Third Street were under the boil water advisory.

The boil water advisory was put in place Thursday following the break of a large transmission line outside TD Bank on Woodbourne Road between East Lincoln Highway and Maple Avenue (Route 213) in Middletown. Thousands of customers in Middletown and Langhorne Borough were without service Thursday afternoon for the break.

The water main was repaired by Friday but concern about water contamination remained thought Saturday.
