It took the work of five Middletown officers to subdue a local man fleeing a probation officer earlier this month.
According to court documents, shortly after 1:30 p.m. on June 4, Middletown Township police responded to Core Creek Park for the report of a man fleeing the custody of a county probation officer at St. Mary Medical Center.

The probation officer had radioed to police a description of the man and relayed that he was wearing a yellow hooded sweatshirt in advance of their arrival.
Upon getting on scene, police observed the described man being followed by the probation officer. The man attempted to flee on foot but was immediately brought to the ground. He continued to resist by pulling his hands away from police and kicking his legs, causing five police officers several minutes to place him into custody. One of the officers deployed his pepper spray to help with the arrest, while another advised that their hand was on the man’s head during the struggle when he attempted to bite her, police said.
David Roach, 31, of Langhorne, was charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest. He was arraigned last week for the early June incident and remanded to the Bucks County Correctional Facility on 10 percent of $50,000 bail.
