A man with a lengthy criminal history was sentenced for his series of business burglaries that happened in the region.

Robert Imhoff, 47, of Philadelphia, entered a non-negotiated open plea of guilty Wednesday relating to three burglaries at commercial businesses spread across Bristol Borough, Delaware County, and Montgomery County. He was sentenced by Bucks County Judge Rea Boylan to three to 15 years in state prison.

“Anything less than a lengthy sentence would diminish the seriousness of these offenses,” the judge said.

Just two weeks after smashing the door of Aston Beverage in Delaware County and stealing cigarettes in summer 2017, Imhoff and another suspect broke the front door of the Bath Street Market in Bristol Borough. An officer pulled up as the two suspects were leaving the business, according to prosecutors.

Imhoff escaped in a Lexus SUV and his partner fled on foot before being captured, authorities said.

Inside the store, police found two cash registers smashed with a hammer.

Two weeks after the Bristol Borough burglary, Imhoff and another man broke into a Sunoco in Whitepain in Montgomery County and stole cigarettes and boxes of rolling paper, authorities said.

Using surveillance images, Imhoff was identified and arrested by police.

In court, Deputy District Attorney David Keightly Jr. listed all of the crimes committed by Imhoff since 1990, most of them theft-related, including a 1997 conviction that resulted in a three- to six-year state prison term.

Imhoff’s attorney, Daniel Schatz said his client has struggled with drug issues for years.

“His addiction is consistently leading him back to jail,” he told the court.
