
Memorial Day weekend is a time to remember those who sacrificed everything in service of our country.
This year, like years past, will be filled with events in the Levittown area.
Saturday
9 a.m.: The Penndel-Hulmeville Memorial Day Parade begins at Ford Avenue in Hulmeville, goes to Main Street and runs along Bellevue Avenue into Penndel. The parade ends with a ceremony at the Penndel Memorial Ball Field. The event will feature veterans, emergency services and community groups.
9 a.m.: Memorial Day serves at the monument at Fallsington Avenue and Main Street in Tullytown.
Noon: The Tullytown Memorial Day Parade runs along Main Street and concludes at Borough Hall at 500 Main Street.
6 p.m.: Tullytown will host the SamStorm band until 10 p.m. at the park behind Borough Hall on Main Street. The Tullytown Fire Company will sell hot dogs and drinks.
9 p.m.: A fireworks show at Sesame Place will be held. The eye-popping display is set to the music from Sesame Street. Viewing will be available from inside and outside the park. For more information visit sesameplace.com
Sunday
1 p.m.: The Levittown Memorial Day Parade will start at Hood Boulevard near Pennsbury High School and march along New Falls Road to Fallsington before ending at American Legion Post No. 834 in Fallsington. A short memorial service will be held across the street from the Legion Post.
9 p.m.: A fireworks show at Sesame Place will be held. The eye-popping display is set to the music from Sesame Street. Viewing will be available from inside and outside the park. For more information visit sesameplace.com
Monday
9 a.m.: The Jesse Soby American Legion Post No. 148 on Richardson Avenue in Langhorne Borough will be the starting point for the community’s annual Memorial Day ceremony and the following parade. The parade is will feature emergency responders, military veterans, musicians and community groups. The parade will include a “Bicycle Parade” for youngster who decorate their bikes patriotically and ride. The biycles will be judged and prizes will be awarded.
11:30 a.m.: The Croydon Memorial Day Parade begins on State Road and heads to the Joseph A. Schumacher VFW Post at 901 Bellevue Avenue in the Croydon section of Bristol Township. The parade runs along State Road and will feature numerous locals groups and emergency responders.
