32-Year-Old Man In Critical Condition After Hit-&-Run

A man is in critical condition days after he was struck by a pickup truck that fled in Bristol Township’s Croydon section.

The man – John Sabatini, 32, of Croydon – was on an adult full-sized tricycle at the intersection of State Road and Emily Avenue Monday around 8:15 p.m. when he was struck by the pickup truck.

“The pickup truck left the scene of the accident without stopping or rendering aid to the cyclist,” police said in a statement.

Sabatini suffered head injuries and was rushed to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital in Philadelphia by medics, according to police.

Investigators said the pickup truck that struck Sabantini was a full-sized red Dodge Ram 1500. The vehicle information was determined through viewing surveillance video of the incident, pieces of the headlamp and mirror left behind, a magnet broken key holder, and a black Dodge key.

Sabatini was reported to be traveling south on State Road heading toward Emily Avenue when the pickup truck traveling the same direction on State Road hit him.

Police are asking anyone with information on the striking pickup truck or the driver to step forward. Information can be directed to Officer Mike Sarcewicz at 267-812-3089 or police dispatch at 215-785-4040.
