Household Trash Collection Events Being Held In Bristol Twp.

Bristol Township is holding two spring cleaning events where residents can get rid of unwanted household trash (appliances, toys, furniture, and clothing) on Saturday, April 28 and Saturday, May 5 from 8 a.m. to noon, rain or shine.

“Crews will be on hand to help residents unload,” said Scott Swichar, Bristol Township’s recycling coordinator. “We simply ask that participants provide proof of township residency, such as a driver’s license, at the time they check in.”

The township will also be accepting old “E-waste” electronic devices for recycling on both of these dates. Acceptable items include televisions, laptops, tablets, printers and computers. This free event will take place at the Bristol Township Municipal Complex located at 2501 Bath Road in Bristol.

“This is a free service provided by Bristol Township that gives township residents an opportunity to dispose of bulk items properly and safely rather than illegally dumping them,” Swichar said.

Certain items such as tires and construction debris (drywall, tile, stones, shingles, bricks) will not be accepted at these events. Household hazardous waste products such as batteries, motor oil, antifreeze, turpentine, furniture stripper, household pesticides, drain and oven cleaners, and swimming pool chemicals will not be accepted at these events either.
