Word that 18-year-old Turner would be moving to the Top 10 came toward the end of the episode that aired on ABC.
As host Ryan Seacrest announced Turner would be moving forward, the look on the Middletown resident’s face was one of shock and disbelief. She then went to the stage and performed an acoustic cover of Camila Cabello’s “Havana” after getting a hug from fellow contestant Ada Vox.

Turner was among six contestant voted to the Top 10 by viewers. The other four finalists were picked by celebrity judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry, and Lionel Richie.
Turner, who has a quirky personality and her own sense of style, has become a favorite of those on social media in the past few weeks, earning positive reviews by the judges, as well.

The performance that spurred Americans to vote for Turner was her Sunday night rendition of Hozier’s 2013 hit “Take Me to Church.”
