Students at the George School in Middletown staged a walkout Friday.
Several dozen students at the private Quaker high school gathered outside on the campus to make a statement against gun violence.

The Bucks County Courier Times said the students sang, make speeches, and dedicated a tree. They also walked across Newtown-Langhorne Road to Republican Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick’s office.
Students held signs that read “gun control now” and “ban the piece – strive for peace.”

“As a Friends school, we are happy to support the students’ activism against gun violence and help them learn how to express themselves responsibly on issues they care about. Head of School Sam Houser, joined several other heads of Quaker schools last month, by signing a statement of support in favor of student activism around gun violence,” the school said in a post on Facebook.
The George School’s walkout was part of a nationwide wave of similar events to rally against gun violence. The walkout happened on the 19th anniversary of the Columbine school massacre.
