An investigation into a “personnel issue” in the Bristol Township School District cost taxpayers thousands, freshly released documents reveal.
The issue that led to the months-long investigation that involved hiring New Jersey-based law firm Parker McCay P.A. at a cost of $175 per hour has not been released. However, documents obtained by LevittownNow.com recently through a Right-To-Know Request reveal the investigation has closed.

The total amount invoiced to the school district by Parker McCay P.A. was $7,211 between October of last year and late February, according to documents.
The “noncriminal investigation” started in late September and involved staff from Parker McCay P.A. spending hours interviewing “complainants,” traveling, preparing for an unspecified hearing, making phone calls, and communicating, according to invoices.
In its letter responding to this new organization’s Right-To-Know Request, an attorney representing the district wrote that releasing the report and certain documents related to the investigation were exempt from the Right To Know law because information in them would result in the “demonstrable risk or physical harm to or personal security of an individual.”

A close-out letter was prepared around the new year and the investigation appeared to be resolved. School district officials said this week that the employee at the center of the probe remains employed.
