A Neshaminy High School teacher passed away unexpectedly.

Social studies teacher Leonard Alborn was died suddenly at his home Saturday, according to the Neshaminy School District. LevittownNow.com was unable to confirm the circumstances around the teacher’s death as of publication.

Alborn taught at the former Tawanka Learning Center and Neshaminy High School for 24 years. He was currently teaching freshman and sophomore American and World History.

“Today, we spoke with each of Mr. Alborn’s classes and called the families of each student in those classes to make certain parents/guardians are aware,” Neshaminy High School Principal Dr. Rob McGee said.

The staff at the high school is working to make sure Alborn’s classes are covered with teachers familiar to the students, McGee said.

The school has counselors and social workers supporting students.

“I have no doubt that during this difficult time NHS students, staff, and parents will come together to support one another,” McGee said.

A newspaper report Monday afternoon that stated Alborn had passed away from injuries sustained when a tree hit a vehicle in Montgomery County were untrue. An Upper Merion police official said Alborn was not the victim in that weather-related death.

Memorial arraignments for Alborn were not released Monday afternoon.
