As LevittownNow.com first reported Friday evening, Burgos was wanted for a non-fatal stabbing in the Bronx at the time Bristol Township officers encountered his vehicle sitting on the side of Edgely Road. The purple sedan with New York plates had reportedly been on the side of the road for an “extended period of time,” authorities said.
Burgos was seated in the vehicle when he “confronted police officers with a weapon or weapons,” Monday’s statement from the district attorney’s office said.
The police fired multiple shots at Burgos, striking him, authorities said.
