
A man in his late 20s died after being shot by Bristol Township police, authorities confirmed Friday evening.
The man, according to the Bucks County District Attorney’s Office, was shot after pulling a weapon around 12:15 p.m. Friday on Edgely Road just south of Runway Road. He had reportedly exited a purple sedan with front-end damage and New York plates and confronted police with the weapon.

The man who was shot by law enforcement was wanted by the New York City Police Department for a non-fatal stabbing that happened in the western Bronx within the past day, a spokesperson for the NYPD told LevittownNow.com.

Officers were called to Edgely Road for a report of a vehicle with New York plates sitting on the side of the road for an “extended period of time,” the district attorney’s office said.

Medics transported the wounded man to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital in Philadelphia. Authorities said the man was pronounced dead at the hospital.
No officers were seriously injured.

The district attorney’s office said the Bucks County Detectives are investigating the “circumstances of the shooting, which is standard procedure whenever deadly force is used by law enforcement officers in Bucks County.”
