Falls Twp. Police K-9 Receives Protective Vest

A Falls Township police K-9 has received a bullet and stab protective vest thanks to a donation.

K-9 Leo recently received the protective vest through a donation from nonprofit Vested Interest in K-9s. The vest was provided in memory of California City Police Department K-9 Ty, who passed away in September 2016.

Each protective vest costs the nonprofit $950 and is valued between $1,795 to $2,234. The vests have a five-year warranty and weight of four to five pounds.

Vested Interest in K-9s is located in East Taunton, Massachusetts, and provides gear and other assistance to law enforcement dogs throughout the county. The nonprofit was founded in 2009 and has helped purchase 2,800 protective vests.
