A request for bids for Middletown’s road repaving project was approved by the Board of Supervisors this week.
Among the most notable projects on the agenda for the warmer months of 2018 are the Route 1 access roads and the parking lots at the Municipal Center and the community park.

Director of Zoning and Building Pat Duffy said the township will reach out to Langhorne Manor Borough to see if they want to jump onto the township’s access road paving work to get their deteriorating portion resurfaced. The borough would have to pay for their portion of the work, but it would be a seamless resurfacing.
The township is also looking to repave the eight streets in the Langhorne Gardens neighborhood along with Sandybrook Drive, Bellaire Drive, Reetz Avenue, Harding Avenue, McKinley Avenue, Mt. Misery Lane, and Gartner Lane.
In addition, Middletown is aiming to work with Penndel Borough to repave Woodland Avenue, which sits in both municipalities. The cost of the road would be split by Middletown and Penndel, Duffy said.

The total estimated cost of this year’s repaving work is $1.3 million.
Once the township receives bids, they will award the work to a contractor at an upcoming Board of Supervisors meeting.
