Lifelong Eagles Fan’s Signage Stolen During Playoff Run

A Levittown family’s game day tradition was shattered last week when Andy Reid, a lifelong Eagles fan, found his family heirloom Eagles signs missing.

Anyone who lives in the Indian Creek Neighborhood in Bristol Township will likely recognize Reid’sย E-A-G-L-E-S display. The signs in classic Eagles font with kelly green proudly lasted in Reid’s front lawn for the past 30 seasons. When Reid went to put the signs up for the divisional playoff round last week, he noticed the signs were gone from their usual spot.

“It’s just a shame that somebody came and took them away,” he said.

The signs came into the family’s life about 30 years ago, when Reid’s sister, who had a signage company at the time, had E-A-G-L-E-S letters professionally made for her mom. During every game day – both win or lose – the Reid family would put the signs out to cheer on their favorite team.

“Even when they were playing badly, we had it out there,” Reid said.

Reid’s parents moved to Indian Creek in 1954, where they raised Reid and his seven siblings. Now, Reid is in that house raising his own kids – Zoe and Andre – with his girlfriend, Jennifer.

“The signs have just always been around,” Reid explained.

The letters have been a part of a number of family memories, as well. When former Eagles wide receiver Mike Quick came to the house to visit Reid’s sick mother, the signs were up to greet him.

Quickly after the signs disappeared, Reid took to social media to post about the disappearance. Hundreds of people expressed interest in helping Reid and his family to retrieve the signs, but they had not been located as of Saturday.

Now, he just wants the letters returned and is asking for anyone who sees the signs to call him at 215-287-0488. If he absolutely cannot get the signs returned, Reid said that he will look into getting new ones made.
