Injured Man Flown To Hospital Following Explosion

A man was injured in an explosion Tuesday evening in Bristol Township.

The explosion happened at a commercial property in the 3000 block of New Falls Road around 5 p.m. According to Fire Marshal Kevin Dippolito, a man was cutting a scrap vehicle apart when vapors from a gas tank ignited, causing an explosion and fire.

The man suffered burns and was transported by the Bucks County Rescue Squad to the Newportville Fire Company station on New Falls Road. A medical helicopter arrived and flew the man to Temple University Hospital’s burn center for treatment.

Nearby residents reported hearing an explosion before the sound of emergency responders rushing to the scene.
