Forecasters warn that the Monday afternoon and evening commute could be hazardous due to an expected mix of freezing rain, sleet and snow.

The National Weather Service called for possible slippery conditions due to freezing rain, sleet and a dusting of snow that will start around 4 p.m. The ice could glaze untreated sidewalks, roads and bridges, which are already cold due to days of below-freezing temperatures.

“Ice will likely create hazardous conditions on area roads and walkways as the ground is very cold. The icy conditions could result in significant travel delays for the evening commute,” forecasters wrote.

In advance of the precipitation, forecasters issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Lower Bucks County.

Monday is the first day since 2017 that temperatures could go slightly above the freezing mark.
