A local group is once again collecting presents for children who have lost at least one parent to the drug epidemic.
Tina Grady, a former councilwoman in Tullytown, has helped organize the collection event, which will run until December 20. The group, known as Children Without Parents, is completely confidential – protecting the names of children who will be receiving gifts.

According to Grady, 63 children from newborn to 18 years old will have a wonderful Christmas regardless of their family situation thanks to donations made at any one of the 22 donation drop off locations.
“Last year on Christmas Eve morning a gentleman called and had just picked up his grandchildren having 2 hours prior lost his son, leaving him to take his children. One post and those kids had the best Christmas ever,” Grady wrote.
Those interested in donating to the cause can drop off unopened toys or gift cards at the following locations:
