Recently, the long-brewing issue of what will happen with Bristol Township’s closed schools came to a boil. The solution isn’t yet certain, but residents have made their voices heard to local officials.
Through the school closures, construction of three new buildings and now the future of the five closed school sites, LevittownNow.com has reported on nearly every hours-long meeting and development in the long-running saga that will impact taxpayers for decades to come. In total, we’ve produced more than 28 dozen (close to 350) articles about the Bristol Township School District.
The coverage has been unmatched and we’ve often broken major developments, including the initial offers to sell some of the buildings and the recent offer from the township. Those on all sides of the issue have cited our on-the-ground reporting when making their voices heard.

When we launched in 2013 and I first started covering Bristol Township School Board meetings, it wasn’t uncommon to see one or two other reporters from other publications sitting in the meeting room. However, that number has dwindled due to industry-wide cut backs and we’re unfortunately often the only news organization at those meetings. As of summer, we’re the only locally-owned daily news publication dedicated to the Levittown area.
