A much-buzzed about project that has been in the works for years in Bristol Borough received final land development approvals on Monday night.
The Mill Run project, which has been in talks since 2014, received final approval from Bristol Borough’s council on Monday evening. The plans, which developers outlined in a previous meeting, received unanimous approval.

The plans include a three story addition, a pool addition and a number of other improvements throughout the property. The tentative opening date for the new mixed-use assisted care facility with other medical offices facility is September 2018.
The property is located at 1201 Wilson Avenue in the East Ward of Bristol Borough. Council persons Greg Pezza and Lorraine Cullen worked with developers to bring the sale to pass.
“We are just really excited that we came to an agreement,” said Cullen after Monday night’s meeting.

The neighbors surrounding the property have dealt with about three full years of construction going on at the site. As 2017 comes to a close, those living near the property finally see an end to the construction and work being done.
Thanking those who have put up with this long streak of construction, Pezza mentioned the bright future of the property.

“I do think that the neighbors are going to start to see the fruits of their patience,” he said.
Both council people mentioned the boon that the facility will be for employment and the elderly in Bristol and the surrounding areas.
Borough and county officials voted in 2015 to give the site Local Economic Revitalization Tax Assistance in homes it would spur the local economy.

Before renovations began, the Mill Run building sat vacant for years and became an eyesore in the borough.
