Democrats Win Control Of Middletown Board Of Supervisors

The Middletown Board of Supervisors will have a Democratic majority come the new year.

Voters elected attorney Mike Ksiazek to serve on the elected body. He will join fellow Democrats Amy Strouse and Tom Tosti, who will now have a 3-2 majority.

The shift comes as Ksiazek beat out businessman and firefighter Kevin Glasson, a Republican, who ran for the seat currently held by outgoing Republican Board of Supervisor Chairman Tom Gallagher.

Ksiazek told LevittownNow.com in a pre-election interview that he plans to work toward saving the Stone Farm property on day one and wants to review how the township spends its money.

“I have been very clear not to make any promises to taxpayers that if I win I will repeal EIT (Earned Income Tax),” he said, adding he was not for the EIT when it was passed.

Ksiazek said the township brings in more revenue than it needs and EIT earnings could be used to preserve the Stone Farm property.

Democrat Anna Payne won the seat for auditor, but fellow Democrat Bill Appleton lost the tax collector race to Ray Chapman.
