Falls Township detectives have their work cut out as they try to place stolen items with their owners after a suspected series of burglaries and thefts from vehicles.

Police were questioning three teenagers Tuesday afternoon in connection with various pieces of stolen property, including gaming systems, that were swiped from the Makefield Road Village and surrounding neighborhoods over the past several nights, Lt. Hank Ward said.

“There’s a bunch of property and [police] are trying to locate whose home it came from,” he said.

The burglaries and thefts happened over the past few nights.

Ward said residents who were the victims of the theft or burglary incidents are asked to leave the suspected crime scene and contact police. He explained that investigators would like to examine the scenes for DNA and other evidence.

The lieutenant told LevittownNow.com the teens did admit to entering various homes through the back windows but were not sure what specific homes were burglarized.

Police were working to track down other teens possibly involved in the crimes, Ward said.

“We’re asking people to check their belongings when they get home,” he added.

One of the teens was transported to the county juvenile detention facility.

Anyone who believes the teens stole from them are asked to call Detective John Vella at 215-949-9100 ext. 431.
