Time is counting down until the Middletown Community Foundation Inspire 5 Mile Run and 2 Mile Walk.
The annual event will be moving to Core Creek Park in Middletown this year and is certified by USA Track and Field. The race and walk starts at 8:30 a.m. Sunday, October 29 at the park.

“We are the first 5 mile run to be completed totally inside the boundaries of Core Creek, so you want to be a part of this inaugural event. The scenery will be beautiful throughout the park and a lot of different elevations throughout the course will provide a challenge for all levels of runners,” Paula Kearns of the Middletown Community Foundation.
“Inspire Federal Credit Union is excited to be the presenting sponsor and partner to the Middletown Community Foundation for the third annual 5 Mile Run and 2 Mile Walk. This event is a great time for the community to enjoy scenic Core Creek Park in Bucks County while supporting fundraising efforts that go towards issuing scholarships to students in our community. In 2016 the Inspire Federal Credit Union team had over 20 participants and we look forward to another great event this year,” said Jim Merrill, president and CEO of Inspire Federal Credit Union and Middletown Community Foundation board member.
This year marks the first that LevittownNow.com is the media sponsor for the race and also the first the nonprofit Middletown Community Foundation has gained USA Track and Field certification for the race. The course was certified recently by an expert.

Funds raised by the fun-filled event will benefit the Middletown community. Kearns said the Middletown Community Foundation has provided funding for Automated Emergency Defibrillators, the police K-9 unit, family movie nights, Neshaminy Summer Pass and programs at the Bucks County Technical High School. Since 2002, more than $165,750 in scholarships have been awarded to local students.
