Company officials presented plans to upgrade the interior and exterior of the 4,200-square-foot McDonald’s. In addition, the upgrades would remove the Playplace, overhaul the parking lot, add a second drive-thru and improve access for those with disabilities. The seat count in the upgraded McDonald’s will be around 50, dropping from the current configuration of around 80 seats.
In summer, a representative from the company told zoners that the location sees 77 percent of all sales come through the drive-thru. With the addition of a second drive-thru, the company hopes to increase drive-thru sales to 80 percent.
The removal of the Playplace will decrease the amount of impervious service as the area will be converted to a landscaped green space, company officials said.

The overhaul will mark a major upgrade for the McDonald’s location and bring the eatery up to par with company’s current design.
No start date for the work was announced.
