Hundreds of motorcyclists embarked from St. Mary Medical Center Saturday morning for the sixth annual Pink Your Ride for MIA motorcycle ride.
The ride was sponsored by the Bucks County Harley Owners Group (HOG) and Brian’s Harley Davidson of Middletown. In the years since it has begun, the ride has ballooned from only about 40 riders to more than 200 on Saturday.

“We’re all here because of breast cancer, because unfortunately, we have all been touched by breast cancer,” said Jaclyn Bingert, one of the founders of the ride. “It isn’t just for Mia, but it is for everyone here.”
Jaclyn and Therese Bingert founded the run after their sister Maria passed away from breast cancer in 2007. Now every year, hundreds of motorcyclists come together for a ride. The money raised goes to St. Mary Medical Center’s effort to battle breast cancer.
The money ends up being usedย to provide mammograms to women who are unable to afford them, creating educational material, helping with the costs of breast cancer treatment and helping out the overall wellness center, explained Dr. Renรฉe Quarterman, the director of the breast program at the Middletown medical center.

Brian Bentley, the owner of Brian’s Harley Davidson, was in attendance to speak before the ride.
“Whatever the need is that calls, you guys always step up,” Bentley said, commenting on the warm and open hearts of the local motorcycle clubs. In the first six years, Bentley explained the ride has raised over $20,000 for breast cancer support at the medical center. The Bucks County Centurions, a local motorcycle club, took the matter into their own hands and raised $2,250 for the cause before even coming to the ride.
The ride, which was escorted by police from Middletown, Newtown, Bensalem, Dublin Borough and Lower Makefield, rode through those areas before returning to the area at Brian’s Harley Davidson along Lincoln Highway.
