The company made their decision to close the Walmart location based on numerous factors, including financial performance and strategic alignment with long-term plans.
“The decision to close our Bristol store is not an easy one, but, as a company, we are committed to continuing our growth and investment in Pennsylvania,” said Phil Keene, director of corporate communications for Walmart.

“We have been, and will continue to be, supportive of our local store leadership and associates in Bristol. This decision is in no way a reflection of their hard work and customer service. We opened this store in 2003 and we are as proud today as we’ve ever been with how associates have served and contributed to the local community over the years,” he said.
Bristol Borough Manager Jim Dillon said the closure will have a big impact on the community, noting many shoppers walk to the Walmart.
Walmart said in a statement that the company operates more than 160 Walmart and Sams Club locations in the state and will be investing in renovations this year at 20 stores.

There have been rumors that the Bristol Walmart would close in the years since the Levittown store opened in Tullytown. Sources in 2014 confirmed to LevittownNow.com that Walmart officials looked at constructing a new store in Bristol Township but those plans fell through.
The Bristol Walmart opened its doors in 2003 and underway upgrades in recent years.
