Police Officer Goes To Hospital After Apartment Balcony Blaze

First responders were called out to at Falls Township apartment complex early Saturday morning to stop a small fire.

The fire began on the balcony at The Commons complex at 1 Makefield Road. The call came into firefighters at 4:52 a.m. Saturday, according to Steve Lowden, the chief of the Falls Township Fire Company.

The fire burned to the size of a trashcan before responders put the blaze out with fire extinguishers, Lowden said.

One responding Falls Township police officer suffered minor burns before driving himself to the hospital for treatment, Lowden said.
