The annual St. Ann’s Carnival is set to open on Monday evening, but the effort to ready the fair has already been underway for several days.

The carnival takes place at 357 Dorrance Street in Bristol Borough Monday through Saturday from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. nightly.

“It’s a great community event for everybody,” said Bristol Borough Council President Ralph DiGuiseppe II, a longtime organizer of the carnival.

The long-running carnival has something for everyone. Big rides, kids’ rides, games and homemade Italian food all have a spot at the event that has become a borough tradition.

“What we are able to fit into this parking lot is kind of mind boggling,” DiGuiseppe said of fitting everything into the church property.

The fair is also inexpensive compared to other area fairs. Attendees can buy wristbands and ride every ride all night on any night of the fair, and lots of games have a winner everytime, DiGuiseppe said.

The carnival ย is a cooperative effort from a number of community organizations. St. Ann’s and St. Mark’s both chip in and Cesare’s Ristorante’s helps with food. The fair is the biggest fundraiser for the churches and usually attracts thousands of people, DiGuiseppe said.
