Officers from Pennsylvania Game Commission were investigating Friday how a dead bear, fox, deer and pheasant ended up in a Falls Township dumpster.
According to Conservation Officer Jerrold Czech, Falls Township police were alerted to the find inside a large construction dumpster behind the Giant Food Store in Fairless Hills Friday morning. They called for the assistance of the conservation officers after confirming the discovery.

Czech and Conservation Officer Shawna Burkett said they suspect the animals may have been kept in freezer that failed and were then dumped. The head and the paws were the only remaining pieces of the black bear left in the dumpster and the story was similar for the deer.
A peek inside the dumpster showed the animal remains and several pieces of meat that were partially wrapped.
Czech said illegal dumping was a crime local officials would have to enforce, but the conservation officers were checking to make sure the animals weren’t poached illegally.

After securing the animal remains, conservation officers said they had to track down a lead in their quest to determine how the deceased animals ended up in the dumpster.
