First, word circulated that Ahmir “Questlove” Gomez, who is in The Roots and appears nightly on NBC’s “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” was bailing on the Saturday event. By Friday morning, Questlove announced via Twitter and his spokesperson that he is set to perform at the high school’s highly anticipated prom.
Pennsbury spokesperson Ann Langtry confirmed Questlove’s tweets and said he was set to perform. She added that his performance fee, which was not released, is funded through prom ticket sales and private fundraising.

While there were rumors Friday afternoon that DJ Pauly D, who gained worldwide fame from MTV’s “Jersey Shore,” and other artists were either in talks to perform at the prom or were locked, Langtry said she couldn’t comment further. LevittowNow.com was in contact with DJ Pauly D’s management but didn’t not receive an answer on whether the Las Vegas-based artist was set to perform Saturday.
A student organizer said via email that “more surprises might be in store” for Saturday night.
