The Penndel Police Department has arrested and charged a Levittown man after Chief Joseph Sciscio Jr. said an investigation linked the man’s personal computer to the downloading of child pornography.
According to a probable cause affidavit, from February 24 through March 8, Sciscio worked in an undercover capacity and identified videos of prepubescent female children involved in sexual acts which had been downloaded by a local computer. Upon further investigation, Sciscio confirmed that the computer identified had been located in the Highland Park section of Levittown in Middletown.

On March 8, shortly after 3:30 p.m., law enforcement personnel executed a search warrant at the home of 31-year-old David S. Karl.
According to court documents, Karl admitted to officers on the scene that he owned the desktop computer in his second floor bedroom which he has used for the last decade to download, view, and masturbate to child sexual abuse material.
Sciscio, who interviewed Karl after his arrest, told LevittownNow.com that Karl’s statements have him concerned about live victims.

“He has been downloading and viewing files for about ten years and despite acknowledging that he is in need of professional help and failing to do so, he states that he has been sexually attracted to prepubescent girls for most of his adult life,” said Sciscio.
Karl was charged with two felony counts of child pornography, and one felony count of criminal use of a communication facility. He was released on 10 percent of $50,000 bail.
