Don’t tell the folks who were in T-shirts along the Delaware River in Bristol Borough Thursday afternoon, but snow is headed toward the area.

Forecasters at the National Weather Service’s Mt. Holly, New Jersey, office are calling for up to two inches of snow to fall late Thursday night into Friday morning. The snow is part of a system that is moving up from the south.

Due to the impending snow, a winter weather advisory was issued.

Temperatures are expected to drop from around 70 degrees Thursday to freezing overnight. Snow will fall through late Friday morning with the chance of snow showers Friday afternoon, forecasters said.

“The Friday morning commute will likely be affected,” a briefing package from the National Weather Service said.

Forecasters also said they’re keeping an eye on a potential “significant coastal storm” that could hit the area Monday night through Wednesday morning. The storm could bring accumulating snow.
