Nearly everyone is aware of his old property at 106ย Bristol-Oxford Valley Road in Falls Township, but the name Paul Tidman, or “Butch,” doesn’t mean as much unless you knew him.
Tidman, who operated the perpetual yard sale, passed away from a major heart attack on Monday, February 20, weeks after being removed from his home.

Following the removal in January, Tidman lived in his truck and his health began to decline.
Now, Ryan Andre, a long time friend, and his wife, are trying to pick up the pieces of Butch’s estate, including cremation and a memorial service of some kind.
Andre’s father and uncle both knew Tidman. When Andre moved back into the Levittown area about 20 years ago, he had a few stop-in conversations with Tidman. After learning that his family knew the man who ran the unintentional local landmark, he stopped over more and more and the two became closer.

The close relationship culminated in Andre discovering from Tidman that he was listed as his emergency contact. From there on, Andre would be with Tidman at the hospital whenever his health took a hit.
“He was just a great man,” Andre said, referencing Tidman. “As you get feelings for people, you usually just got the feeling that Butch was a good man and would help you in any way you could.”

“The thing that made me really respect Butch is that he spent all of his money taking care of his family,” Andre said He added that Tidman would pay out of pocket for his family’s medications when they needed them.
Now dealing with the estate, the Andres need help financing efforts to tie up Tidman’s loose ends and give him a proper send off. His goal is to raise $6,000.
Tidman, who has no children and no known next-of-kin, was removed from hisย 5.14 acre property in January after it was purchased by S&H Investment Group LLC for $8,500 and likely back taxes that were owed.

To contribute, Andre has set up a GoFundMe page.
