A Levittown-area volunteer fire company was involved in the hours-long call in Central Bucks County Thursday night.
The Penndel Fire Company’s foam trailer was dispatched to Route 611 in Warrington after a tanker truck packed with thousands of gallons of gasoline overturned and began spilling its hazardous contents.

After an assessment of the scene , Warrington fire officials called up the county hazmat team, other area fire companies and requested two special foam units, one belonging to Penndel.
“Crews were already in station for the weekly duty crew when the initial call went out and immediately began setting up the trailer to ensure a speedy response,” the fire company wrote in a post.
Five Penndel firefighters and the chief were at the scene during the overnight cold until they were released around 1 a.m.

The multi-vehicle wreck that caused the truck to overturn happened around 8 p.m. Thursday.
According to the Doylestown Intelligencer, the 8,600 gallons on gasoline that leaked spilled into a storm drain that led a contained basin. The fuel was cleaned up and removed by a contractor Friday.

No serious injuries were reported in the crash.
