Is My Town Under A Snow Emergency?

UPDATED: Wednesday, 8:24 p.m.:

With a winter storm now predicted to bring between 6 and 12 inches of snow to the region, local municipalities are declaring snow emergencies ahead of the first flakes.

Bristol Borough

No declaration has been made. Borough Manager James Dillion asks residents not to park their cars on Mill Street.

Bristol Township

Bristol Township has declared a snow emergency from 12 a.m. Thursday until 11:59 p.m., according to Fire Marshal Kevin Dippolito. Click here to read more about Bristol Township’s snow removal policies. 

Falls Township

Fire Marshal Rich Dippolito said a snow emergency would begin at 12 a.m. Thursday and expire at 7 a.m. Friday. All residents are required to move vehicles, boats and trailers from the street and into driveways. The fire marshal cautioned residents not to use generators inside if there is a power outage. Anyone with questions is asked to call 215-949-9000 ext. 255.

Langhorne Borough

Mayor Joe Taylor declared a snow emergency in the borough for Thursday. Here’s what borough officials advise residents to do:

• Stay home if possible
• Avoid driving
• No parking of vehicles on streets to allow for clean-up
• Clear snow from sidewalks in a timely fashion
• Do not move snow into streets
• Expect power outages
• Check on elderly and disabled neighbors

No declaration has been made.

Penndel Borough

No declaration has been made.

Middletown Township

Fire Marshal Jim McGuire said the township has declared a snow emergency starting at midnight Thursday. Police said vehicle parked in the roadway one hour after snow begins falling and 12 hours after it has ended are subject to tickets, per township ordinance.

Tullytown Borough

A snow emergency has been declared from 1 a.m.  until 5 p.m. Off street parking locations is offered at the Levittown Lake and the municipal lot.
