The woman severely burned Friday afternoon was reported by to in serious condition as of Friday evening, according to Falls Rich Dippolito.

The fire marshal said the flames that injured the woman’s lower-half of her body remained under investigation.

The woman was found on fire next to a lawn mower that was burning at her home on Echo Lane. A neighbor rushed to render aid until emergency crews got to the scene, Dippolito said.

A helicopter from Temple University Hospital landed at Penn Valley Elementary School shortly after 1 p.m. on Friday afternoon to evacuate a burn victim.

The initial incident, which occurred in the 20 block of Echo Lane in the Elderberry section of Levittown, left the victim with burns, according to the helicopter aid request.

At the time of publication, the medical helicopter had taken off. Falls Township Fire Marshall Rich Dippolito was unable to comment on the incident as he returned to the scene after the evacuation.
