Bristol Township Fire Marshal Kevin Dippolito said the fire started in the area of a space heater in the living room.

The resident, according to the fire marshal, awoke to find flames and escaped the home without injuries.
The Bucks County Courier Times reported the 25-year-old resident’s two dogs perished in the flames. His mother had died in his arms inside the William Levitt-built home on Christmas day.

Responders from the Falls Township, Fairless Hills, Edgely and Levittown No. 2 fire companies were called to the unit block of Red Cedar Drive in Bristol Township around 7 a.m. for a house fire. Levittown Fire Company No. 2 Chief Chris Shortt said crews were met with heavy fire at the door of the home when they arrived.
Firefighters went to work and were able to quickly knock down the flames, Shortt said.
One resident was home at the time of the blaze and no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire was under investigation by the Bristol Township Fire Marshal’s Office.
