Substitute teachers in Bristol Township will be getting a pay raise starting Tuesday.
The Bristol Township School Board voted Monday evening to raise the daily substitute teacher rate from $80 to $100.

Board President Angela Nober said the $20 daily increase will help the district remain competitive in finding substitute teachers, which can be a struggle on some days. Their move follows a similar proposal by the Council Rock School District.
The increase in pay will be covered by the district’s substitute budget, Superintendent Dr. Melanie Gehrens said.
