Improvements could be coming to Bristol Township’s gateways.
The township is considering putting $1.7 million into beautifying several of the gateways to the township. In addition, Township Manager Bill McCauley will submit an application to PennDOT for $3 million.

If the township commits money and the PennDOT grant comes through, the township could beautify the areas of Veterans Highway (Route 413) at the I-95 off-ramp, in the area of the Croydon Train Station and Route 13 and along Mill Creek Road, township engineer Kurt Schroeder said, adding that pedestrian walkways would be on the list of proposed improvements.
McCauley said he wants to talk to PennDOT about getting the funding to help improve the roadways, which are state-controlled.
Council President Craig Bowen noted that he worked with volunteers recently to personally clean the Veterans Highway and I-95 intersection.
