SEPTA andย Transport Workers Union Local 234 officials announced early Monday morning that they have reached a tentative agreement to end the transportation strike.
The tentative five-year agreement still has to be ratified by the members of the union that represents 4,700 trolley, subway and bus service operators but is expected to pass.

The strike began early last Tuesday morning and caused delays on Regional Rail lines and city highways.
The transit agency said in a statement that they plan to restore trolley, subway and bus service throughout the day Monday. All service would be back up and running by Tuesday morning, which is Election Day.
โWe believe this agreement is fair to our employees, and to the fare-paying customers and taxpayers who fund SEPTA,โ said SEPTA Board Chairman Pat Deon. โIt provides for wage increases, pension improvements, and maintains health care coverage levels while addressing rising costs.โ
