Man Rushed To Trauma Center After Car Slams Into Tree

A 66-year-old man was rushed to St. Mary Medical Center’s trauma center after his car slammed into a tree, according to first responders.

Police said the man appeared to lose control at a slight bend on Durham Road outside the Foxwood Manor Apartments in Middletown around 1:40 p.m. Monday.

The man’s Chevrolet went into the opposite lane before swerving and crashing into the tree, police said.

The driver of was unconscious when medics took him to the hospital, police said.

No other vehicles were involved and there was one possible witness, police said.

Durham Road was closed between Tanglewood Drive as of 3 p.m.

Firefighters from the Penndel and Newportville fire companies also responded to the scene.
