Teenagers Charged As Adults In Alleged Armed Drug Deal Robbery

Two teenagers have been arrested and charged in connection with an alleged drug-related robbery in Langhorne Borough.

A 17-year-old boy from Langhorne, and a 17-year-old boy from Lower Southampton were charged as adults with robbery, conspiracy, simple assault, theft, possession of a weapon, receiving stolen property and related offenses.

According to an affidavit of probable cause filed by Chief Steven Mawhinney and Officer Michael Phelan, the department was dispatched at 10:17 p.m. Tuesday to a report of a robbery. The alleged victim reported being robbed as they were walking on foot along Bellevue Avenue at the intersection of Country Lane when they were robbed at gunpoint.

The victim said they made arraignments via Facebook instant messages to sell 7 grams of marijuana to the Langhorne boy for $70 at an intersection near his Langhorne home. A Jeep with two people include – the two teens – pulled up and the victim was told to get inside, police said.

Once inside the Jeep, the victim said he was informed by the Lower Southampton teen that he was getting robbed, police said.

“We rob people,” the Lower Southampton teen reportedly said. “It’s what we do.”

While traveling, Lower Southampton teen allegedly pulled out a semi-automatic handgun and pressed the barrel against the victim’s forehead. He took the marijuana and $50 cash from the victim, police said.

The victim was released from the Jeep following the robbery on West Marshall Avenue by the Middletown Country Club property, police said.

After walking home, according to police, the victim received a Facebook message from the Lanhorne teen.

“Gilly was gonna rob you anyway and you don’t know s–t, bro. I swear to God my motherf–kers will murder you,” the message allegedly said.

The victim said they recognized the Langhorne teen from school, according to court papers.

The Langhorne teen posted 10 percent of $65,000 bail on Tuesday afternoon and the Lower Southampton teen remained in Bucks County prison on 10 percent of $65,000 bail as of Wednesday afternoon.
