A 20-year veteran Pennsbury bus driver has been named 2016 School Bus Driver of the Year by transportation director Charlie Williams.
Driver Camille Shelhamer is currently assigned to Route 67 and transports students to Bucks County Technical High School, Grey Nun Academy and Conwell Egan High School. Over her 20 years with Pennsbury, Shelhamer has criss-crossed the district transporting students and worked with special needs students and instructed kindergartners on safety during orientation.

Shelhamer was reportedly “thrilled” to hear she was named the district’s 2016 School Bus Driver of the Year. She learned of her recognition at the bus drivers’ August 24 kick-off meeting.
“To this School District, Camille is a valuable support staff employee whose contributions go beyond her job description. She is an individual who truly embodies the community spirit and involvement that makes Pennsbury one of the best districts in Bucks County,” Williams said.
Shelhamer has volunteered in her personal time to help paint murals, backgrounds and period art pieces for Pennsbury High School’s world-famous prom.

The Fairless Hills native worked in the banking industry and previously ran her own interiors business for 20 years. In addition to her talent in the arts world, Shelhamer, a mother to three grown sons, enjoys cooking and recently completed a five-country tour of Europe.
