County Set To Spray For Mosquitoes In Levittown

Bucks County crews will be spraying for mosquitoes in Falls Township Thursday.

According to a county news release, crews will conduct an ultra-low volume mosquito control operation Tuesday in the Thornridge and Vermillion Hills sections of Levittown starting at dusk Thursday. The rain date for the spray in Friday.

“The treatments will be administered via truck-mounted equipment, spraying mosquito habitats in residential and park locations. The equipment dispenses Duet Dual-Action Adulticide at a rate of 0.75 ounces per acre.ย  The product is designed to provide quick, effective control of adult mosquito populations. The application material has a very low toxicity profile to mammals and will have negligible impact to non-target insects and the environment,” the press release states.

Bucks County has seen several dozen mosquitoes test positive for West Nile Virus, but zero test positive for Zika Virus, according to data from the state.
