
A Trenton man is under arrest after stealing a running car, crashing it and then attempting to flee the scene on foot, according to Falls Township police.
Robert Rivera, 24, was observed fleeing the scene of a single vehicle accident on northbound Route 1 in Falls Township Saturday morning, police wrote in a probable cause affidavit.

When responding officers made contact with Rivera, they noticed a strong scent of alcohol coming from him. He submitted a blood test, police said.
Officers said they determined the car Rivera was driving was stolen. According to paperwork, the car was stolen from the victim while it was left running outside of the Coco Cafe on Bristol Pike.
The victim caught enough of a view of the person who took the car to positively identify Rivera to police, the probable cause affidavit stated.

Rivera was charged with a number of crimes , including felony receiving stolen property and robbery of a motor vehicle and a number of misdemeanors including DUI and theft from a motor vehicle and several summary charges.
Rivera was arraigned by District Judge John Kelly Jr. and was sent to prison 10 percent of $100,000 bail.
