The Lower Bucks County office for Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign officially opened on Monday evening.
More than 50 supporters and volunteers filled the office located at 245 Mill Street in Bristol Borough for the opening to hear campaign officials and local candidates speak.

Among speakers were Bucks County Commissioner Diane Marseglia and State Rep. Steve Santarsiero, who is running for the Eighth District Congressional seat. The majority of the speeches were positive efforts to get the local Democrats campaigning together, but speakers didn’t hesitate to take shots at Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump either.
Among the volunteers present was Paul Hampel of Bristol Township. Hampel has been a local volunteer for the Democrats on and off for 10 years, starting with Patrick Murphy’s first run for congress. Hampel will spend a few days a week at the office volunteering for the Clinton campaign, he said.
According to Hampel, the office is where the organization for the eight segments of Lower Bucks County takes place. A big poster with each segment’s organizer’s name and contact info is available so that volunteers can easily get in touch with their leader. From the office, phone banking and canvasing will occur as volunteers try to reach potential Clinton voters to get the confirmation that they are “with her.”

“To be honest, it’s actually very hard to make contact with people, considering phone screenings and all,” Hampel said.
As it gets closer to the election, the canvasing and phone banking will more and more so begin to include inquiries about Santasiero’s campaign, as well as those about Katie McGinty, senate challenger to incumbent Republican Pat Toomey.

The Democrats’ office occupies the former Mill Street Marketplace. Democrats have rented out storefront space in Bristol and Doylestown for the past few elections.
Clinton campaign staffers were not permitted to officially give comment.
The Trump campaign has not yet opened and official campaign office in Doylestown .
