Nine months after being sworn in, a Bristol Township School Board member is stepping down.
Shane Bowen, the son of Bristol Township Council President Craig Bowen, served on the board since December before announcing his resignation at Monday night’s school board meeting.

The Bucks County Courier Times reported that Bowen said he felt he “should have done more for the taxpayers,” but did not elaborate on why he was resigning.
Bowen regularly attended school board meetings in the months leading up to his election last year. His term was for four years and will be filled by a member appointed by the school board until a special election can be held next year.
