Bristol Township police surrounded a home overnight.
Officers appeared to surround a home in the 3700 block of Spruce Street in the Winder Village neighborhood Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning. As of midnight, four police cars were parked on the Spruce Street and another car was sitting in a nearby parking lot. Officers were spotted on all sides of the white house where the investigation appeared to be centered.

Officers at the scene turned down comment and directed a reporter to their command staff for further information.
Crime scene tape and patrol cars blocked traffic from making their way through Spruce Street.

Several Winder Village residents said police had been on the street since around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and remained on the scene as of 12:30 a.m. Wednesday. The residents said police ended up pushing them back and extending the cordoned off area around dusk.
One resident, who only wished to be identified as Mr. Peters, said he had been watching police at the scene since he returned from work Tuesday evening.
Several neighborhood residents raised concerns after seeing police outside their homes for hours. They were upset that police had not told them what was happening.

Mr. Peters said he had been recording video of the police activity throughout the night in light of recent incidents across the country involving officers and citizens. He said the footage was to make sure police and citizens remained safe.
“We want to know what’s been happening. Why are they still down there and why is this street blocked?” he said.

Another concerned resident said he wanted to check on his elderly father who lives next to the home police had surrounded but he was unable to walk over. “He’s okay, but I just like to walk by at night and make sure there are no burglars or anything like that bothering him,” the man said.
It was unclear if police were securing the home or dealing with a person inside. Neighbors said the woman who lives in the home that was surrounded was spotted outside the home before going inside.

“She doesn’t have no problems that I know. She’s a hard-working woman and needs sleep for work in the morning but there are lights shining there,” Mr. Peters said.
Mr. Peters added that he hoped officers and residents stayed safe and that the situation was cleared out before the morning.
