Bristol Twp. Police Promote Officer To Sergeant

The Bristol Township Police Department has promoted a patrolman to the position of sergeant.

The promotion, which became available when Sgt.ย Ralph Johnson was promoted to patrol lieutenant earlier this summer, took place Tuesday night during a regularly scheduled council meeting.

According to officials, Officer Mark Titus began his work with the department back in early 2006 after graduating from theย Pennsylvania State Police Academy. Titus has taken on many roles within the department since his hiring, including assignments with the DARE program, the Crisis Prevention Team (CIT), SWAT, and the Traffic Safety Unit. Titus also served as an acting sergeant from April 2011 to January 2012, and again from February 2016 to the present.

Titus, a married father of one, has an associateโ€™s degree in criminal justice and recently attended the High Impact Supervision training offered by Penn State University: Justice and Safety Institute.

The official position of sergeant will raise Titus’ salary nearly $9,000 a year to $97,589.32. He will share duties of shift commanderย with Sgt.ย Montgomery Moore on Patrol Squad 2 and will report toย Johnson.
