

Despite a large commotion at St. Michael’s Fair in Tullytown Thursday night, the annual event was packed with people Saturday.
Clinton Walters from Penndel said heย hasn’t come to the fair in years but returned to the fair on Saturday night. Walters admitted that he was thinking about the incident from Thursdayย night, but said with resolve that he wouldn’t let it impact his night.

“Why should someone who did that have influence on the way we have fun?,” he asked.
Being a place for friends and families, people would did notย simply abandon the fair due to the actions of rowdy groupsย a couple days before.
“I was disappointed, I have to admit,” Job Ventura, a Bristol Township resident, said. “It’s sad. People need to stop being so angry.”

“You just don’t expect something like that at the St. Mike’s fair,” said Cynthia Ventura, his wife.
While people bring their kids and their spouses, St. Mike’s fair is a place to meet with friends and gather for many area residents.

Nicole Trotter of Fairless Hills came to the fair with a group of friends Saturday. She said the fights on Thursdayย haven’t escaped here mind.
“It does kind of scare me. I used to come here as a kid, and that stuff really happens,” Trotter said.
Fair organizers on Friday were clear that they would not let the events on Thursday cancel the popular fair that has been happening for more than half a century.

One thing that the Saturday night patrons of the fair had in common: they weren’t going to let theย bad news from Thursdayย keep them away from a tradition with their family and friends.
